Good news all around for the survivors, veterans, and families of the USS Frank E. Evans. This week the Veterans Affairs Committee with the State of California unanimously approved a resolution to endorse adding the names of the 74 men killed on the USS Frank E. Evans to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. You can read that resolution here. That heads for a vote later this month.
But wait, there's more.
ABC News picked up the story! You can read it here. I was interviewed by reporter Molly Nagle for the piece. She did a fantastic job! Among my favorite quotes:
“We’re not quitting,” he (survivor Steve Kraus) said. “We're going to keep pursuing it and pursuing it and pursuing it until someone realizes this is the right thing to do.”
